It’s not often that I dedicate a whole post to a single brand. There’s so much saturation in the Beauty and Fashion industries that it’s hard to choose what to feature on a daily basis, hence the multitude of “roundups” and “10 ____ We Love” titles. So, when I do offer up a whole article featuring a singular brand, you know it’s good. In comes CLE Cosmetics, Non-Toxic, Cruelty-Free and Vegan K-beauty brand based in LA. The scene is known for its innovative products and packaging, but CLE mixes the basic foundations of K-Beauty with the minimalistic lifestyle that Instagram has helped popularize.
It’s a hard time to be a woman in 2019 looking for a clean, minimal, affordable, safe-for-sensitive-skin beauty line. And CLE’s “clean” beauty claims aren’t without proper backup. They’re non-toxic and vegan, which is a win-win for most, and makes it that much easier to work with sensitive skin. The mid-priced products will feel great on your skin, and look great on your shelves, without breaking the bank. Scroll below to see some of my favorites from my new fave indie brand.
Oxygen Foam Cleanser, $28
Never did I ever think I would wash my face and have so much fun. This cleanser – which is very effective and gentle, by the way – is similar to the bubbling mask that emerged a couple years ago. You put it on dry skin, and in 30 seconds, your face is covered in a cloud. I use this right before my shower because I am fundamentally unable to wash my face at the sink, for personal reasons (because it’s gross and water gets all over and ew). Anyways, this face wash WORKS and is great with my rosacea-prone sensitive skin. Get it.
Essence Air Cushion Foundation, $42
I had my reservations about this foundation. I didn’t like the idea of using a 2000’s-era puff to put makeup on my face, but this is easy to get over when you own a beauty blender. I use this for a daily light base, when I want to look glowy and natural. This is also perfect for sensitive skin, as it is fragrance-free. The SPF in this really sells it for me, I’m so scared of aging. I admittedly haven’t found a base I like this well since I finished my sample of Chanel Aqua-whatever.
CLE Lifting Set (10 Sheets), $31
I’m not a normal sheet mask. I’m a cool sheet mask. And I am unlike anything you’ve ever used!!! OK, I’ll stop pretending I’m a sheet mask now. But seriously this mask set was probably the coolest sheet mask I’ve ever used, and made my skin feel baby soft after. With multiple types of collagen, the Lifting Set is designed to help with anti-aging and wrinkles. It’s also only $3 per mask, even when you factor in the mist. WIN.
*I received these products for free, but am not being paid in any way to write this post. All thoughts are my own.
