You have probably seen her work, although you may not know it. Sydney-based nail artist Victoria Houllis has some big collabs under her belt; from Ellery to Paper Magazine to MIA, she’s worked with more names and labels that any nail artist could ever wish to.

It should also be noted that Victoria has a sense of style that is so extra yet so understated, much like her nail designs. And the magic of both is that it works. Whether you follow her for her fashion sense or nail art (or both in my case), she’s definitely a creative to watch. Find out below what she’s been binge-watching, her skincare routine, and more.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Interacting with new people every day! I learn something new from each of my clients and have great relationships with all of my regulars so every appointment brings something fun to my day! 

 

What are some of your career highlights?

Definitely some of the great editorials I’ve worked on with super talented friends! Getting to do Julia Michaels and MIA’s nails are also massive highlights! 

 

What’s your favorite city to visit?

It’s a tie between Tokyo and New York for sure! Both have such a unique experience to offer! 

 

How’d you first get into nail artistry?

My mum and aunty had a nail artist come to the house to do their nails from when I was super young and I’d rearrange all of her colours into rainbow order and at the end of each season she’d give me a few colours to keep. From there the obsession grew and I eventually did my nail course at a Japanese salon in Sydney while I was studying at uni. 

 

What’s your skincare routine?

I use Aspect Purastat Cleanser and a Vitamin B serum both morning and night. It’s a relatively new routine that the angels at Infinity Skin Clinic Surry Hills introduced me to. I started going to them to level out my post-pill skin and it’s a simple but effective routine! My daily SPF is from Mecca’s in-house brand. Every now and again I’ll throw in a little Biologique P50 or Beuins Sleep Mask if I feel like my skin is looking a little dull or I’ve had a big weekend! And to finish Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask!  

 

What’s the last show you binge-watched?

Sex Education! 

 

If you had to choose one outfit to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A tracksuit and my LV boots for sure. That’s what I run most of the time anyway!
