While my drawers are overflowing and I’ve had to commission a shoe rack to help with my “too small” closet space, I still find myself often having nothing to wear. What I realized is that I really don’t have any basic pieces that usually make an outfit, or not any updated ones, anyway. These are the 4 pieces I’m looking for this spring that I think can replace my trendier pieces in order to make more wearable looks, more often.
Full-Length Everyday Pant
I’m all stocked up on my cropped Levi’s, but I really don’t have any denim that is full-length and not super-skinny. It’s definitely time to change, as I often find myself wishing I had a couple pair on hand to polish off my outfit.

The Perfect Sandal
As much as I love my sneakers, I sweat. A LOT. And my feet need some ventilation in the humid spring and summer in Chicago. A nice quality neutral pair is high on my list this spring.

Black Leather Shorts
I definitely need these to replace my denim daisy dukes. These and a tee will be my summer uniform for sure.
’70s Huge Sunnies
I know I talk about the ’70s so much that you probably want to put my head through a wall at this point, but I really really do need a pair of these, as I’m so glad the skinny frames trend is over.
