It’s so hard to keep up with trends, especially as brands are constantly pushing out collections. As seen both on and off the runway at SS19, the 70’s – and 80’s, to be fair – were in full force. From patchwork denim to corduroy, almost all the trends that we saw the year the mobile phone was invented are coming back into play. Fashion Week-goers and IG fashion enthusiasts alike are donning these reminiscent looks, and I don’t have any complaints.
See below to see a quick roundup of our favorites:
Patchwork Denim

Seen on the runway at Missoni, Isabel Marant, and Coach 1941, multi-denim is making a comeback. The DIY-esque fad is mostly being seen on outerwear, but jeans aren’t out of the question.
Shop Patchwork Denim:
B SIDES Arts Patchwork-Effect Mid-Rise Straight-Leg Jeans, $325
ALICE MCCALL Quincy patchwork denim overalls, $390
Fringe

While it was always one of my favorites, fringe is making a comeback, especially with Chloé’s handbags.
Shop Fringe:
ISABEL MARANT Abel fringed suede jacket, $2,135
TRADEMARK Fringed leather bucket bag, $380
Corduroy

I’ve been seeing Corduroy sets all over IG lately, and I’m totally behind the nostalgic trend.
Shop Corduroy:
LAURENCE DACADE Simona corduroy ankle boots, $830 $332
Wide-Leg Pants

After the 2000’s and our obsession with skinny jeans, it’s always refreshing to see pants that let your legs breathe.
Shop Wide Leg Pants:
SOLACE LONDON Nora high-rise wide-leg jeans, $375 $150
Bohemian Dresses

As a self-proclaimed Boho Princess, I 10000% approve of this trend forever.
Shop Bohemian Dresses:
ZIMMERMANN Juniper open-back cotton and silk-blend crepon dress, $1,100
Pearls

Even though in the Seventies they were often worn around the neck, pearls today have been making their way back through accessories such as jewelry, barrettes, and even handbags.
